Brain fog, memory problems, concentration, and the inability to form clear thoughts is an issue that many will face at some point. The progression of losing the ability to focus or think clearly can lead to decreased productivity with normal daily tasks, work, or taking care of a household. It can be a short-term issue experience caused by sleep deprivation or stress. However, if these issues are allowed to continue it can negatively change an individual’s quality of life.
Affected Productivity Factors
Causes that can lead to poor productivity include:
The underlying issue/s associated with brain function and the ability to focus are connected to the spine being out of alignment. Individuals often have poor spinal alignment without even realizing it is happening. It affects the body’s blood and nerve transmitting abilities to complete normal daily tasks. Chiropractic treatment is an expert-based approach that focuses on restoring spinal alignment to increase an individual’s health and brain function. Proper spinal alignment allows the nerves to relay messages clearly and optimally through the spinal cord to the brain. This allows for:
Clear thinking
Improved memory
Better decision making
Staying focused on tasks
Chiropractic Optimal Nerve Flow
When the central nervous system/brain/spinal cord is not transmitting properly it can lead to significant issues with concentration and productivity. When nerve energy and brain function is optimized productivity is improved. Research has shown that chiropractic can help:
Reduce the risk of disease
Prevent injuries
Prevent pain conditions
Improved quality of life
Chiropractic medicine can increase the ability to focus, optimize brain health, and more.
Body Composition
Tracing the sources of fatigue
There is a difference between being tired periodically from a long day and being tired daily. Being tired daily is also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This is a fatigue condition that has lasted longer than 6 months. It is typical to experience many of the symptoms of fatigue that disrupt the ability to achieve health goals like:
Weight loss
Muscle gain
Maintaining body weight
Symptoms include:
Constantly tired
Reduced appetite
Moodiness
Reaction time slows down
Memory Loss
Dizziness
The nature of hectic daily schedules can allow sources of fatigue to pile up. The objective is to find a balance between home, work, physical activity, diet, etc. Chiropractic medicine and health coaching can help develop an optimal plan to get healthy.

Chiropractic adjusting: Poor sleep is detrimental to the body’s general health. If it becomes chronic side effects like high blood pressure, brain fog, exacerbation or development of a disease, and chronic fatigue can set in. Getting the proper quality amount of sleep needs to become a priority. The hard work and to-do lists can only get done when the machine that is the human body is functioning well-rested and at full capacity. When the body is starved of sleep it sets in motion a downward spiral of system failure, burnout, declining health, and decreased productivity.
Assessing sleep quality
7 to 9 hours should be the objective for the quantity each night or day depending on shift work, etc. Quality of sleep is just as vital as the proper amount. Sleep quality can be affected by:
Not waking up unless to use the bathroom and being able to fall back to sleep within 30 minutes
Wake up feeling fresh and rested
Being full of energy, focused, and able to handle responsibilities
Spinal alignment affects sleep ability
Chiropractic can improve sleep quality by adjusting the spine, bringing the body back into balance. Chiropractic is an expert-based approach that will address any underlying issues with spinal misalignment that could be affecting sleep. Spine misalignment contributes to poor nerve energy circulation that affects the bodys ability to function and recover, which occurs during the sleep cycle.
A chiropractor will restore alignment and provide expert recommendations for decreasing pain and sleeping posture optimization. Poor posture specifically when sleeping, a pain-causing injury, and poor biomechanics can all contribute to poor spinal alignment. This affects the bodys ability to complete normal tasks like sleep. Not letting the body rest properly can exacerbate other health issues and create a vicious cycle of compromised health.
Chiropractic adjusting
Restoring the body’s balance via the spine allows the body to properly move, heal, and function at full potential. Working with a chiropractic care provider can help this process and help restore refreshing and restful sleep. When sleep quality improves quality of life improves. Chiropractic practitioners can provide effective spinal treatment and optimize the quality of sleep.

Belly dancing has been found to be an effective way to help individuals managing low back pain. It could be utilized as a part of a chiropractic treatment plan. The dancing is beneficial for improving posture and allows an individual to improve their fitness with a light form of aerobic exercise.
Regular physical activity/exercise and a healthy lifestyle go hand in hand. For individuals with spinal issues, the right stretches and exercises can make a difference in their quality of life. It increases:
Strength
Flexibility
Helps with pain management
Improves posture
Maintains spinal alignment
Belly dancing can help with injury recovery, as well as overall health. For most the trouble with exercising regularly is that it becomes routine and boring. Individuals want to live healthily, but it can be a challenge to maintain interest and motivation. An alternative form of physical activity that qualifies as exercise could be the answer.
Dancing has grown in popularity because of its fitness, flexibility, and spinal benefits. This form of belly dancing exercise does not require any special outfit or plenty of space. This utilizes the movements as a form of stretching and keeping the body moving in an aerobic fashion. They can be done at home with video instruction or an online class. Although the majority are women, men can and do belly dance.
Belly Dance
Information on the history of belly dancing. The dance has gone through various transformations since its inception. It was once considered burlesque entertainment, is now recognized as an important cultural expression, and today has been found to be a respected form of dance exercise.
Isometric exercises are contract specific muscles or groups of muscles. These types of exercise help with strength and stability enhancement. Both are vital for individuals recovering from back injuries or back pain management.
Posture
Dance posture is different than normal standing or sitting posture. Dance posture refers to the way an individual prepares/maintains their body to perform specific movements so that the motions are fluid, graceful, and with no presentation of pain. Belly dance posture maintains proper spinal alignment, which encourages reduced stress/pressure on the joints. This is beneficial for individuals managing back problems. The keys to spinal success are:
The knees should be slightly bent and not stiff so as not to pull/strain the lower back muscles
When the abdominal and back muscles maintain/support a straight spine, this alleviates stress on the low back. Lower back issues have shown a positive response to a belly dance exercise therapy program. A study looked at the effects of belly dancing on pain and function in women with chronic lower back pain. The study found that belly dancing made movements of the trunk and pelvis that are known to influence low back pain much easier.
A belly dance program in conjunction with a chiropractic or physical therapy treatment plan can help alleviate pain and improve function. A 45-minute belly dance routine/session promotes aerobic benefits, improves flexibility and core strength.
Core Strength
These are movements that train the muscles in the:
Pelvis
Abdomen
Hips
Low back
They help build strength, generate stability, protect against back pain, poor posture, and muscle injuries. Having core strength is crucial for individuals with back issues, as it increases the stabilization of the spine. Core strengthening is highly recommended and often prescribed for individuals recovering from lumbar issues.
Depression/Anxiety Improvement
Individuals with back pain also tend to experience psychological issues like depression and anxiety. Back pain can affect:
Mood
Tiredness
Sleep problems
Self-esteem problems
Belly dancing as part of a treatment/therapy program can help an individual experience benefits that improve mental health and well-being. These include:
Regaining mobility
Having a positive body image
Social interaction is enhanced
For All Ages
Belly dancing is a fantastic creative outlet and a great way to exercise. Anyone that is able can participate. Children, seniors, and everyone in between can get into belly dancing. It enhances health and strengthens the body and mind. When the body is in the proper position/posture there are no joint issues or pain. In-person classes, at home with online instruction, DVDs, or video meeting apps can benefit the body and especially the spine.
